As part of the wider world curriculum students in Pinewood classroom, Lomond House, visited a local fire station. The students greeted the members of staff and were encouraged to participate and experience some of their work tasks. Students helped clean the fire truck and even tried on the uniforms. At the beginning of the trip some students were anxious but the fire fighters were very welcoming and increased the students’ confidence. By the end of the visit everyone was initiating interactions and enjoying asking questions about the fire service. The visit was a great success!
