While our students are off on their summer break we hope they’re enjoying the community venues and support services on offer to them outside of college. At Lomond House we held a Transition Fair to help make parents, carers and students aware of the organisations that provide a wealth of opportunities and support to people with learning difficulties and disabilities.
At the Transition Fair we welcomed organisations including Lambeth and national Mencap, Direct Payments, Intosport, Lambeth Learning Disability Assembly, and Heart and Soul. Every organisation provides a resource or service for people with disabilities in the local area. It was an excellent information, advice and guidance event to help students access some of the exciting projects they can get involved in over summer.
One parent said “this was a super event, I wish there were more fairs like this. I got good, friendly advice and it was lovely to hear about some of the organisations that I didn’t know existed. It was also lovely to meet other Orchard Hill College students, too. A lovely, fun, informative day!”
