ITV selected one of the Skills Hub’s students to take part in their Open Newsroom Day, which took place last week. The student was chosen for showing great potential and real enthusiasm in a Vlogging (video blogging) workshop, which was set up by Media Trust. Media Trust is a charity that gives a voice to other charities, community groups and young people through training, films, TV and volunteer matching.

The student has shown a real interest in music production and this event was a great opportunity for him to create contacts and learn more about production, as well as providing an insight into what it is like working in a television studio.

He had a great day at ITV, with a tour of the studios, a question and answer session, a workshop where he got to build and present his own news segment and a networking lunch.

India from Media Trust said “I hope that he came away with renewed confidence as he was specially selected to attend due to his engagement at the Vlogging workshop. It is so important that young people understand the potential they have and opportunities like the one yesterday act as a way to do this.”
