Some fantastic travel training has been taking place at Lomond House, our College Centre in Camberwell Green. A group of students took to the streets to visit Walworth Garden Farm, following verbal instructions and using a visual guide to enable them increased independence on the journey. The guide showed how to safely use public transport, and Owen and Lucas were able to guide their peers in finding the correct bus stop, identifying the bus route they needed, and safely boarding the bus. They all touched their Oyster cards on the reader and were off! They kept aware of their surroundings, and pressed the bell when they were reaching their destination. The journey took students through busy and noisy environments, but everyone took it in their stride and managed the whole situation fantastically!
