Yesterday Indy Sunner, Head of Learning Centre in Wallington and Acting Assistant Head, was honoured to receive an award at the Sutton Metropolitan Police Awards Ceremony.
The award commended Indy for organising and delivering workshops around disability hate crime and building awareness of special needs within the London Borough of Sutton's police force.
The commendation was for 'Professionalism and Partnership Commitment to delivering the 2016 Disability Awareness Project in the borough of Sutton'. Indy says it was “a complete honour to be part of such an amazing event which recognised the achievements of people within the community who have not only saved lives but change lives and keep Sutton a safe place.”
We hope to continue to deliver training and workshops such as these to other groups and organisations, as those who attended Indy's training session said it really highlighted a huge gap in knowledge of special needs, which is something everyone should be aware of.
