Last week students from Old Town Hall joined a ‘Speak Up Sutton’ forum at Trinity Centre in Wallington.
Students had the opportunity to meet other people and discuss how to keep safe in their community and home. They listened to presentations, talked about their lives and experiences, and discussed what safeguarding is and how to stay safe in different situations.
This was a brilliant opportunity to learn about safety in the community, but it also gave students the opportunity to self-advocate and to meet new people.
Lecturer Alex said ‘It was fantastic to see all the students engaged in the session, discussing how to speak up for themselves and how to stay safe, both in the community and at home.’
