As part of Learner Voice Week, Lomond House welcomed Julia, an external Makaton trainer.

Julia delivered an amazing session in which students from every classroom were involved. The session started with an ice-breaker game, signing and singing everyone's names. Following this students had a great time singing along to and signing the words to Bob Marley “Three Little Birds” and The Beatles “With a Little Help from my Friends”.

The session allowed students to focus on developing their communication skills in a new way. It was an outstanding session in which all students interacted and practised their Makaton skills. Cristina, one of the Lecturers at Lomond House said “it was lovely to see all students working together and showing amazing Makaton skills. We're definitely going to arrange more Makaton sessions for next term.”
