Students at Old Town Hall took part in a session covering a subject of much debate in recent months – the referendum. The group discussed who is in control of the country and together they decided that the people control the country by voting, and that democracy is a good thing.
Everyone then visited a polling station to see how people vote, and spoke to voters who were there to cast their vote in this historic referendum. Back at College students decided to hold their own debates and referenda on made-up scenarios such as ‘no mobile phones for the rest of the year’ and then cast a vote in a secret ballot, counted the votes and announced the result.
