This term, students in Simmonds class at Beaconsfield in New Malden have really taken their cooking enterprise to the next level!
Their sessions for ‘Exploring Work, Enterprise and Volunteering’ have progressed from cooking a vegetable curry for customers at Beaconsfield, to exploring different tastes of Europe each week. This week, students used their skills to prepare and cook Turkish kebabs, further developing skills such as sequencing and sorting, thinking and problem solving, following instructions, food hygiene, communication and much more.
The 'Simmonds Michelin 5 star' lunch club has drummed up a healthy 15 regular customers with more joining in each week. The students have worked extremely hard to run a successful enterprise and look forward to exploring the tastes of Switzerland, Italy and Denmark in weeks to come. Well done, Simmonds!
