One of our students has been enjoying going to Hawk Centre in Kingston to take part in line dancing classes, and what a great time he’s having! Every week Lewis travels to the centre as part of his health and well-being program, developing his independent living skills in the community and building his skills to manage change.
Although a bit shy at first, Lewis has settled in brilliantly to the new surroundings and is now remembering routines, following instructions and anticipating movements in sessions. Line dancing is helping Lewis to express himself, improve his confidence and developing his social awareness, all while learning a new skill to share with his peers at college.
