Students from Lomond House have come up with a new idea to help people in the community. First stage was to trial a coffee morning in a local residential home.

The first coffee morning went down very well with residents. Students had prepared croissants, fruit, tea and coffee for the residents – Peter was welcoming guests, Georgina making the hot drinks, Lois and Alfie serving the tea and coffee, Luke was in charge of the croissants and snacks as he is an aspiring chef and finally Robert and Aaron were talking with guests and getting some feedback on their morning.

Students also prepared a raffle with some chocolates and biscuits as prizes which one lady described as “Such a lovely idea, so kind and thoughtful of the students!”

Another lady said “This has been the highlight of my year – it’s so refreshing to see all the great work that students and staff are doing at Orchard Hill College. We would love to have them back here every day if we could! I love having a new face to talk to and we all felt well and truly spoilt by the end of the morning.”

Watch this space for the next coffee morning!
