We’ve been looking back on our end of year celebrations across Orchard Hill College, including Beckham class’ outing of choice, which they decided together would be a trip in to town for lunch followed by a visit to the theatre to see Wicked!
This was a fantastic fun day out for the group, but it also gave them the opportunity to put the travel training skills they’ve developed over the year to good use, taking trains and buses in to busy parts of London. Students applied their skills to busy and unfamiliar environments, and when they arrived at their chosen lunch spot they applied other skills developed throughout their course to order and pay for their meals independently.
Lunch was followed by the show at the Apollo Victoria Theatre which one student, Lauren, described as “the best show I’ve ever seen!”
What a perfect end to the year for all the students’ hard work, and to spend quality time with those who have now finished their courses with us; we wish you all the best!
