Carshalton College

Carshalton College working with Orchard Hill College

In November 2009, Orchard Hill College opened a Vocational Progression Centre in partnership with Carshalton College. The Centre accommodates more than 80 learners on a non-residential basis and together the Colleges provide a wide range of courses for young people and adults with severe/profound and complex learning difficulties and disabilities.

Staff from both Colleges have extensive knowledge and skills in delivering vocational and independent living skills, specialist qualifications and work related learning. This enables Orchard Hill and Carshalton staff to share specialisms, training and best practise throughout the Centre.

The centre provides learners with the opportunity to continue learning in a safe environment, whilst developing their independence and learning to adapt to a larger, busier college environment. It provides a unique planned progression route that bridges the gap between specialist and mainstream college.
