“I am able to make choices about what I want to do”
Improving skills to develop choice and effective communication with others. Using basic skills in the home and community is a key part of our foundation programme. With the support of our team of teachers, teaching aids and therapists, learners take part in the following learning opportunities:
- Choice making skills
- Managing change
- Communication skills
- Developing basic skills for home, community and work related learning
- Community access skills
- Keeping safe
All learner programmes are personalised, flexible and carefully planned and reviewed each term. On completion (if appropriate) learners can gain Foundation Learning accreditation units through recognised awarding bodies.
To ensure that learners can continue to develop these skills on leaving the College, we work in partnership with local Supported Living and Employability organisations and Adult Education Colleges.
